1.Reflect on your understanding of leadership. How has it changed over your time in PL? What do you think of leadership now/What does leadership mean to you now?
My understanding of leadership has definitely changed over time. Now, I've learned that there are some common qualities that great leaders have. In addition, there are some innate qualities that make them so successful. The most important idea I've learned is that anyone can be a leader in their daily lives if they want to. 2.Describe your leadership style referencing Strengths, leadership theories/styles, etc from class My leadership style is one that is assertive but open-minded. I'm willing to listen to the ideas of those around me and would like to follow a collaborative approach. My strengths lie in being a team player. However, I can also be assertive and make sure that the expectations are known to my fellow peers that I am leading. 4.How have you used an element of leadership learned through PL in your life? (either a formal leadership role or a personal interaction). I have used an element of leadership through PL in my life when a relative passed away this year. My family was dejected and I decided to motivate my family and remind them that there's good and bad in life. All suffering ends at some point and they should be proud of the person that relative was. I saw the situation and rose to the occasion in order to get my family to see the positive side. |
I chose the topic of mental health for my position paper as there is a stigma against it when so many people deal with mental illness. I wanted to dispute some of the misconceptions and make it clear that mental illness needs to be taken seriously in all ages of life.
I created my leadership philosophy and used Susan B. Anthony as an example of someone who embodies my values as I wanted to show how any person can command a group of people with the right set of qualities.
This essay is about air pollution that manufacturing companies produce. I chose this essay as it describes a current problem and how important it is for the problem to be fixed. This essay demonstrates leadership as my partner and I decided to tackle a very important problem and come up with possible solutions to the problem.
